Working Together to Support Our Members & Neighbors
SCCU is committed to making a difference in the lives of our members. Through community involvement and responsible corporate citizenship, we help improve the communities where we live, work, and play.
We give back in a variety of ways, including charitable contributions, volunteering, disaster relief, and supporting local events. SCCU also coordinates multiple philanthropy walks and supply drives throughout the year.
Each year, SCCU hosts a United Way fundraising campaign, donating more than $1 million over the years through employee and corporate giving. In 2018 Florida Today named SCCU “Business Volunteer of the Year” due to SCCU’s core belief in building stronger communities through giving back.
Standing Beside Local Heroes
Founded on Patrick Air Force Base (now Patrick Space Force Base), SCCU's roots lie within serving the community. We strive to continue honoring our local heroes, which include military, educators, law enforcement, medical professionals, and first responders. Some of those ways include:
- Offering special-rate Hero Loans
- Sponsoring Veterans organizations and events
- Supporting events honoring first responders and educators
Supporting Non-Profit Organizations
We believe in coming together to support non-profit organizations that promote good health, save lives, and enact positive societal changes. Through corporate runs, contests, and sponsorships internally with our Team Members and in the community, we support organizations that include:
Recognizing Outstanding Students & Educators
Where would we be without the hard work and dedication of our teachers? The achievements of students and teachers should never go unnoticed. We aim to support and spotlight those in education through:
- Proudly partnering with Junior Achievement to empower youth with financial literacy skills
- Supporting Teacher of the Year awards in multiple counties
- Backing foundations that provide educational resources
Lifting Up Our Neighbors in Need
With 65 branches spanning Florida's east coast, we're dedicated to serving our surrounding communities and spreading awareness about local needs. From monthly drives to holiday events, we aim to help where we can and encourage others to join us, such as:
- Holding food and school supply drives from Flagler to Miami-Dade counties
- Supporting the Thanksgiving Basket Brigade
- Participating in Friends of Children's Superhero 5K
